LFI2119 is a Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) grade designed specifically for general-purpose thin films. It offers excellent optical properties, high output, and superior drawdown performance, making it ideal for packaging and lamination films. The material is produced under SABTEC licensed technology, ensuring a high level of consistency and quality in processing and performance.

Applications

  1. Packaging Films:

    • Used for creating thin films with high clarity and visual appeal.
  2. Lamination Films:

    • Ideal as a base for lamination in packaging applications.
  3. Blown Film Extrusion:

    • Suitable for producing smooth, high-quality films with good mechanical toughness and optical performance.

Key Characteristics

  1. Optical Performance:

    • With a haze of 9% and gloss of 55 GU, LFI2119 ensures outstanding clarity and surface finish ideal for visually attractive packaging applications.
  2. Mechanical Toughness:

    • High tear strength (60 kN/m in MD; 25 kN/m in TD) and impact resistance (26 kJ/m) make it suitable for demanding film applications.
  3. Flexibility & Strength:

    • Excellent strain at break (above 500% TD and 150% MD) ensures flexibility, while good tensile stress and elastic modulus provide strength.
  4. High Processing Performance:

    • The Melt Flow Index of 1.9 dg/min allows for excellent processability and drawdown ability during blown film extrusion.

Processing Recommendations

  1. Extruder Temperature Profile:

    • 165–185°C
  2. Blow-up Ratio:

    • 2:1 to 3:1
  3. Film Thickness:

    • Recommended range: 20–50 μm

These conditions ensure optimal performance and processing ease when using the 100% LFI2119 resin.

Storage Recommendations

  • Store in a dry, dust-free environment.
  • Avoid exposure to temperatures above 50°C.
  • For best performance, process LFI2119 resin within 6 months of delivery.
