Product Description
HM-CRP100N (PE100) is a high-performance natural pipe-grade resin used primarily for pressure pipe applications. This bi-modal high-density polyethylene (HDPE) is manufactured through the suspension polymerization of ethylene monomer, incorporating 1-Butene as a co-monomer. The resin offers superior mechanical properties, excellent processability, and resistance to pressure, making it ideal for gas and water transport pipelines, especially where higher pressure ratings or thinner walls are required in comparison to PE80 pipes.

Characteristic Features of HM-CRP 100N (PE100)
-
Natural PE100 Resin
HM-CRP100N (PE100) is a natural resin, meaning it lacks pigments and UV stabilization agents. This provides flexibility in downstream processing, allowing the resin to be customized for specific applications, including the addition of UV stabilization and pigments during the extrusion or molding processes. This versatility makes it suitable for various environments, particularly where pipe systems are exposed to outdoor conditions. -
Bi-modal HDPE with 1-Butene Co-monomer
The inclusion of 1-Butene as a co-monomer enhances the bi-modal nature of the resin, which improves its mechanical strength, processability, and molecular weight distribution. The bi-modal polymer structure results in a more uniform and durable material, which is essential for high-performance pipe applications, particularly under high-pressure conditions. -
High Density
With a density of 0.948 g/cm³, HM-CRP100N delivers the typical advantages of HDPE, such as mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and low moisture absorption. This ensures that pipes made from HM-CRP100N (PE100) can withstand tough environmental conditions and maintain their structural integrity over time. -
Flow Rate Ratio (FRR)
The Flow Rate Ratio (FRR) of 28 signifies that HM-CRP100N is capable of maintaining consistent extrusion properties. The high FRR is indicative of the resin’s excellent flow characteristics and its ability to process efficiently in manufacturing, ensuring the final product has a consistent quality and mechanical performance. -
Hydrostatic Strength
The hydrostatic strength of 5000 hours at 80°C under 4.5 N/mm² pressure indicates the resin’s superior resistance to internal pressure over extended periods. This makes it particularly well-suited for high-pressure pipe applications, ensuring that pipelines used in gas and water transportation systems will maintain their integrity under long-term pressure exposure. -
Melt Flow Rate (MFR)
The MFR of 6.2 g/10 min at 190°C with a 21.6 kg load reflects the resin’s moderate flowability during extrusion, which facilitates the production of pipes and other profiles. The MFR of 0.22 g/10 min at a 5 kg load shows that the resin exhibits high viscosity under lower stress conditions, enhancing its ability to maintain structural integrity when subjected to low-flow applications. -
Notched Impact Strength
With a notched impact strength of 24 mJ/mm² at 23°C, the resin demonstrates excellent toughness and resistance to mechanical stress. This characteristic is essential for ensuring that PE100 pipes are resistant to impact and stress during handling, transportation, and installation.
Main Applications of HM-CRP 100N (PE100)
-
PE100 Pressure Pipes
HM-CRP100N (PE100) is primarily used to manufacture PE100 pipes designed for high-pressure applications in gas and water transportation systems. The material’s ability to handle higher pressures and its resistance to environmental degradation make it suitable for the transportation of fluids under extreme conditions. -
Gas and Water Transportation
This resin is widely used in pipelines for gas and water transport, where long-term durability, resistance to pressure, and impact toughness are required. The resin’s ability to perform well in harsh environments and under high-pressure conditions ensures that it is suitable for municipal and industrial pipeline systems. -
UV Stabilization and Customization
HM-CRP100N (PE100) can be further processed with additives such as UV stabilizers and pigments to enhance its performance in outdoor applications. These additives provide the resin with improved resistance to UV degradation, making it suitable for use in above-ground pipes that are exposed to sunlight and other environmental factors.
Additives in HM-CRP 100N (PE100)
-
Antioxidant/Process Stabilizer
The inclusion of antioxidants and process stabilizers in HM-CRP100N (PE100) ensures long-term stability during processing. These additives help prevent the oxidation of the resin during extrusion or molding, preserving its mechanical properties and ensuring that the final product maintains its quality and durability. -
Lubricant/Acid Scavenger
The resin also contains lubricants and acid scavengers, which help reduce friction during the extrusion process, ensuring smooth processing and preventing the degradation of the resin. This makes it easier to manufacture high-quality pipes and profiles that meet the required standards.
