Product Description
EX3-80 (PE80) is a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe-grade resin with 1-Butene as a co-monomer. This resin is known for its toughness, rigidity, and exceptional environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR). It is manufactured as a natural resin, making it suitable for various industrial applications, including pressure pipes, gas pipelines, drinking water pipes, pressure-less pipes, and fittings. Its excellent mechanical and thermal properties make it ideal for long-term, high-performance use.
Characteristic Properties of EX3-80 (PE80)
- Tough and Rigid: Provides high strength for demanding industrial and pressure pipe applications.
- Good ESCR (Environmental Stress Crack Resistance): Ensures pipes are durable in challenging environments.
- Natural Resin: Can be customized during extrusion (e.g., addition of pigments or stabilizers).
Applications of EX3-80 (PE80)
- Pipe Extrusion PE Class: Suitable for producing high-grade polyethylene pipes.
- Industrial and Pressure Pipes: Designed for pipes operating in high-stress and industrial environments.
- Gas Pipes: Ideal for transporting gas under pressure due to its impact and creep resistance.
- Drinking Water Pipes: Approved for use in clean water transportation thanks to its safe composition and high resistance to contamination.
- Pressure-Less Pipes and Relining: Performs well as part of pressure-less systems or as a material for pipeline repair and relining.
- Fittings: Can be used for manufacturing pipe fittings with excellent durability and rigidity.

Notable Features
-
Rigidity and Impact Strength:
EX3-80 provides excellent impact strength (23 kJ/m² at 23°C) and rigidity, ensuring pipes can sustain physical impact and daily operational loads. -
High Creep and Hydrostatic Strength:
With a Flexural Creep Modulus of 950 MPa and Hydrostatic Strength >1000 h at 80°C under 4.6 MPa, EX3-80 performs exceptionally well under permanent loads without deformation or failure. -
Wide Thermal Range:
The resin maintains exceptional performance in a wide thermal range, from softening at 67°C to operating at temperatures as low as below -80°C without embrittlement. -
Excellent Stress Resistance:
With Stress at Yield of 22 MPa and Stress at Break of 35 MPa, the resin can handle substantial loads, providing longevity for pipe systems. -
High Elongation for Flexibility:
The Elongation at Break (>850%) ensures flexibility and resistance to mechanical stress, ideal for demanding pipe and fitting applications. -
Environmental Resistance (ESCR):
This grade exhibits excellent Environmental Stress Crack Resistance, performing reliably under challenging conditions for up to 50 hours at 80°C in full-notch creep tests.
